I'd love to meet your birds! I live in Chandler and volunteer at the AZ Exotic Bird Rescue. Looking for a bird to call our own and am interested in learning as much as possible from people who love their pets. Thanks and hope to hear from you soon!

An update about Léa.

She'll be 8 months old in a week.
She's been undergoing a pretty severe molt since she was about 6 months old, resulting in her colouring starting to change. Her head has gotten more grey, as well as her bib, most of the baby orange cap on her head has gone and the coral cap which females have has started to come in slowly. Her ankles have started to get some coral feathers as well as her wings.
She now weighs around 300-305g.
She's more chatty than she has been previously, although she is not loud. She has started to say a few words but is more inclined to do Cape noises.
She got even more active if that is possible - she flies a lot, she can get quite physical when plays as well. She has started to chew harder items and is really working that beak although she hasn't really bitten anyone yet.
She still loves water and she generally gets a shower but also likes her bath.
She still can be quite cuddly and hasn't shown any signs of territoriality yet - in fact, if you approach her while she is in her cage, she'll come and see you.
She still loves wooden beads and has started to destroy harder woods as well.
As far as food goes, she loves nuts, she loves lentils as well as what was previously mentioned.

Baby is very aggressive with some people. She flied into their backs and then latches on and starts biting. It is not a good think. Seems to be women that she does this to. Any suggestions? I put her away when she is aggressive towards guests. Keeps her safe and them as well. otherwise hse is out and about.
She has broken the tip of her beek on several occasions. We have been to the vet each time. she is still able to eah her fruits and veggies so not too bad. She lokes to complain by saying ouch when this happens.
she is also very aggressive towards other birds. she grew up with several other birds so not sure why. she is now the only bird in the house. She ignores the fish and chases the cat. She also loves to beat up her stuffed toy dinosaur, Zabumafu.

Baby is now 11. she is fully flighted and loves it. she zips around and comes when called. No outdoor flying tho. She can talk but prefers to whistle or screech when upset. August 2011 she built a nest and laid three eggs which she sat on for an entire month. She is happy funny and I love her to bits.

I recently adopted a Grey Headed Parrot from our local Humane Society. His band indicates he was bred in Texas. I did not know what a find he was. He is very healthy and mimics everything. I have only had him for less than a week. I can send a picture if you like.

A flock of 30 plus Cape parrots has been spotted in Adelaide on 22/23 of June in Adelaide. Hope this is an indication that numbers are on the increase. Haven't seen them in this area for at least the last 40 years
