You might want to look into clicker training. There are at least several groups for it, including birdclick and clickbirds, and these are moderated by very experienced people. You can also see clicker training in action on numerous Youtube videos.
Jean, Blueberry & Betty (aka Baby Bird)
: hi,
: I have had my cape home for the past few months and he has been great..cuddly, talkative and just a joy..well, he is now almost 3 years old and he has been getting progressively more agressive..he will step up and then bite down hard..he will climb down from his cage and when I try to pick him up he will go for me..he is afraid of the step up perch so I have to pick him up which scares the hell out of me since his bite is very painful and draws blood..I am so afraid the dynamic changing so much between us that I will never get my old keeko back...any suggestions ? will this take a few years to pass ? I also have hos cage right next to my female caiques cage..could that be setting him off ?
: thanks everyone, timothi jane
