Drooling Capes

Has anyone else ever experienced the Cape "drool"? When Ika, our hen pet, gets comfy at night after relaxing and eyes closed, she will somtimes have a drip at the end of her beak. I can only surmise that it is drool, I usually give her a drink off water. She has done this since a youngster, however, it is intermittent.

Somewhere in the last few years I could have swore I read something about this in Jean Pattison's writings. Is this a Cape phenomenon?
